About Us

The Vero Beach Quilt Guild, was founded in 1979 by a group of friends who wanted a place where they could get together and share their passion for quilting. They originally named themselves the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Guild based on the first quilt pattern they made together. Since then, it has grown into a guild of over 100 members  that is dedicated to:

1) Preserving the heritage of quilting

2) Educating members and the public about quilting

3) Serving as a communal gathering space for quilters

We support our local community by using our talents to provide quilts and other handmade items to charitable organizations that support those in need in our area. The guild also holds a biennial Quilt Show and donates a portion of proceeds to a charity of choice.

The guild meets weekly on Thursdays at 10:00 am, and the activities generally conclude before noon. Many members will bring their lunches and something portable to work on for the afternoon, as we have the space until 3 pm.

Dues are $45 a year, and are collected yearly in December. Guests and visitors are always welcome to our meetings, but we ask that if you attend more than 3 meetings, you consider becoming a dues paying member to support the programs we provide. As a member, you have access to the members-only portion of the website, which includes access to a gallery of all our photos, any and all documents we share as a guild, a discussion board, and unlimited access to any recorded classes.
